The Ekadashi vrat is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, and Shri Khatu Shyam Ji is revered as Krishna’s own form in the age of Kali. Each Ekadashi has its own name, story and fruit — but Phalgun Shukla Ekadashi is the most special of all, for it is held to be Baba’s day of manifestation.

How to Keep the Ekadashi Vrat
- 1
From the evening of Dashami, resolve to keep a sattvic diet and a calm, pure mind.
- 2
On Ekadashi morning, bathe, wear clean clothes and take the sankalp (vow).
- 3
Stay on a fruit diet through the day — rice, grains and pulses are avoided.
- 4
Remember and recite to Vishnu, Shyam Baba or your chosen deity through the day.
- 5
Keep the night-long jagran with bhajan and kirtan — the heart of the vrat.
- 6
On Dwadashi morning, bathe, give in charity, and break the fast (paran).
