    When Barbarika gave his head in charity at the Mahabharata war, Krishna blessed him to be worshipped in the Kali Yuga as Shyam — the refuge of all who are vanquished. Devotees believe that anyone who comes to Khatu with sincere devotion has every wish fulfilled.

    Khatu Shyam Ji is Barbarika of the Mahabharata — grandson of Bhima and son of Ghatotkacha, considered the greatest archer of the epic. By Krishna's blessing he is worshipped in the Kali Yuga as Shyam. His main temple stands in Khatu village, Sikar district, Rajasthan.

    How do I reach the Khatu Shyam temple?

    The temple is about 80 km from Jaipur and 285 km from Delhi. The nearest railway station is Ringas Junction, 17 km from Khatu, with regular taxis, buses and autos onward. Direct bus services also run from Delhi and Jaipur.

    When is the Phalgun Mela?

    The Phalgun Mela 2027 runs 15–21 March, with the main day on Phalgun Shukla Ekadashi — Thursday 18 March. It is the year's largest gathering, with millions travelling to Khatu for the Lakhi Mela, and the main aarti and Nishan Yatra fall on Ekadashi.
