Udaipur toKhatu Shyam

‖ 430 km · 6–7 hours by road ‖

Udaipur is about 430 km from Khatu Shyam, a six-to-seven-hour journey. From Mewar the road runs up through Ajmer and Jaipur — or take the daily train to Ringas and finish the last 17 km by jeep.

By road

~430 km · 6–7 hours

The route is Udaipur → Bhilwara → Ajmer → Kishangarh → Jaipur → Ringas → Khatu, mostly four-lane highway, about six to seven hours.

A car or taxi is most comfortable, and Ajmer and Pushkar fold neatly into the drive.

By train

~8 hours · direct Udaipur to Ringas

A daily train runs from Udaipur City (Rana Pratap Nagar) to Ringas — the nearest railhead, 17 km from Khatu — in about 7.5 to 8 hours.

A night train is the most convenient: leave in the evening, reach Ringas by morning, and take darshan.

By air

Fly to Jaipur, then ~80 km by road

A flight from Udaipur’s Maharana Pratap airport to Jaipur and then road onward is possible, but usually impractical for this distance.

Jaipur International is about 80 km from Khatu — pilgrims coming from afar should land at Jaipur and drive straight to the temple.

Practical Tips
  1. 1

    Add Ajmer and Pushkar

Ajmer falls right on the Udaipur–Khatu route, so the Dargah and the Brahma temple at Pushkar fold in easily.

  2. 2

    Take the direct Ringas train

Udaipur has a daily direct train to Ringas — no changes to juggle. Reserve in advance.

  3. 3

    Break at Bhilwara

On the road journey, Bhilwara is the natural midpoint for food and a rest stop.

  4. 4

    Travel in winter

October to March is the pleasant window. In summer, start at dawn to avoid the heat on this long route.
