Accommodation for every budget near Khatu Shyam temple — community & Marwari dharamshalas, budget and mid-range hotels, the Ringas/Sikar fallback, and practical advice for booking a room during the mela.
Pilgrims come to Khatu Shyam Ji from across the country, and Khatu village has somewhere to stay for every budget — from free dharamshalas to comfortable hotels. Below are all the options and practical mela-time advice.
Accommodation for every budget
- 1
Community & Marwari dharamshalas
Khatu village has many dharamshalas run by samaj trusts and the Marwari community, offering rooms free or at a token charge. Most give priority to pilgrims of their own community, but general visitors can usually stay subject to availability. Clean rooms, common halls and simple meals are often provided; a donation towards upkeep is appreciated.
- 2
Budget hotels & guesthouses
Around the temple and the Khatu bus stand are plenty of budget hotels and guesthouses — on ordinary days a room for two or three runs roughly ₹500–1,500 a night. Staying within walking distance lets you reach the dawn Mangala Aarti easily.
- 3
Mid-range & comfortable hotels
If you want more comfort — attached bathroom, hot water, parking — mid-range hotels are available in Khatu and along the Sikar road (about ₹1,500–3,500 a night). This tier suits families and travelling with elders.
- 4
Options in Ringas & Sikar
If you can't find a room in Khatu — especially during the mela or on Ekadashi — staying in Ringas (17 km) or Sikar (45 km) is a good fallback. Ringas suits train travellers; Sikar is a larger town with more, cheaper hotels.
Booking & stay tips
- 1
Book 2–3 months ahead for the mela
During the Phalgun Mela (March) and Kartik Mela (November), rooms in Khatu, Ringas and Sikar fill up months ahead and rates multiply. If you plan to attend a mela, book two to three months in advance, or stay in Sikar and travel to Khatu each day.
- 2
Ekadashi & weekend crowds
Every Ekadashi, Sunday and public holiday brings heavy crowds to Khatu. Secure a room in advance on those dates — or pick an ordinary weekday to avoid the rush.
- 3
Settle the rate on arrival
Dharamshalas and small guesthouses are mostly not listed online — arriving and negotiating in person is normal. Check cleanliness, water and the bathroom before you take a room.
- 4
Travel light
Bags and phones are not allowed inside the sanctum. Leave heavy luggage at your dharamshala or hotel and go for darshan unburdened — light is easiest in the mela crowd.
