Jaipur toKhatu Shyam

‖ 80 km · 1.5–2 hours by road ‖

Jaipur is the simplest gateway to Khatu — about 80 km, and a comfortable day trip. Leave in the morning, take darshan, and you can be back in Jaipur by evening.

By road

80 km · 1.5–2 hours

The main route is NH-52: Jaipur → Chomu → Ringas → Khatu. The road is flat and easy the whole way.

Buses leave roughly every 30–45 minutes from Sindhi Camp bus stand. Private taxis and app cabs are equally simple, and a return day-trip taxi usually runs ₹2,500–3,500.

Done as a day trip, leave Jaipur around 6 AM, reach Khatu by 8, take darshan, and return by evening.

By train

1.5–2 hours · Jaipur to Ringas

Several passenger and express trains run daily from Jaipur Junction to Ringas, taking about 1.5–2 hours.

From Ringas it is only 17 km to Khatu — 20–30 minutes by taxi, auto or bus.

During the mela the Jaipur–Ringas trains get very crowded, so an advance reservation helps.

By air

Jaipur airport, then 80 km by road

Jaipur International (JAI) is the nearest airport, with direct flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Indore.

From the airport, a taxi or app cab reaches Khatu in about 1.5–2 hours — so visitors from other cities often fly into Jaipur and drive straight on.

Practical Tips
  1. 1

    Chomu route vs Sikar route

Two roads run from Jaipur: via Chomu (80 km, shorter) and via Sikar (90 km, longer). The Chomu route is the traditional, more-used one.

  2. 2

Start by 5 AM for Mangala Aarti

Jaipur traffic slows after 8 AM. Leaving at 5–6 AM gives you a chance to reach in time for the early Mangala Aarti.

  3. 3

Fix the return taxi before you leave

Agree a return trip with the driver up front — ₹2,500–3,500 is fair for a day trip. Rates climb during the mela.

  4. 4

During the mela, stay a night

A day trip is hard during the Phalgun Mela because of the crowds. A night at Khatu or Ringas is far easier.
