Indore toKhatu Shyam

‖ 700 km · train 12–14 hours, or fly via Jaipur ‖

Indore is about 700 km from Khatu Shyam. Most devotees from Madhya Pradesh travel by overnight train — the Indore–Jaipur express takes 12 to 14 hours — or fly to Jaipur and finish by road.

By train

12–14 hours · to Jaipur or Ringas

The popular choice is the direct Indore–Jaipur express, an overnight run of about 12 to 14 hours. From Jaipur take a local train or taxi onward to Ringas, two hours further.

There are also trains via Kota and Ajmer to Jaipur — slower, but with more options to choose from.

By air

Devi Ahilya → Jaipur, then 80 km

Direct flights from Indore’s Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar airport (IDR) to Jaipur are limited, often with a layover in Delhi. A direct hop is about an hour; via Delhi it is 3–4 hours.

From Jaipur it is 80 km by road to Khatu.

By road

~700 km · 12–13 hours

By road it is about 700 km: Indore → Kota → Ajmer → Jaipur → Sikar → Khatu, mostly NH-52 and good Rajasthan highways, about 12–13 hours.

Large groups can travel by bus, and the route lets you add darshan at Kota, Ajmer (Khwaja Garib Nawaz) and Pushkar.

Practical Tips
  1. 1

    Add Ajmer to the route

Ajmer falls on the Indore–Jaipur road. Take darshan at the Dargah of Khwaja Garib Nawaz and the Brahma temple at Pushkar before going on to Khatu.

  2. 2

    Take the overnight express

The Indore–Jaipur night train is the most convenient — sleep through the journey, reach Jaipur in the morning, and a taxi has you at Khatu by 8 AM.

  3. 3

    Look for mela-special trains

During the Phalgun Mela, Rajasthan-bound special trains run from Indore. Search for mela specials on the IRCTC site.

  4. 4

Other MP cities use the same route

Devotees from Bhopal, Ujjain and Gwalior can use the same Indore–Jaipur corridor — reach Indore and continue from there.
