Aaya FaganAaya Re
‖ welcoming Phalgun — the mela, Holi and the call of Khatu ‖
As the month of Phalgun arrives, the joy of the mela, the colours of Holi and the longing for Khatu darshan wake in every devotee’s heart. This bhajan is the song of that arriving joy — Lakhbir Singh Lakkha’s Holi-special on T-Series Bhakti Sagar.
The month of Phalgun is the most special time of year for Shyam devotees. Baba’s manifestation festival falls on its Shukla Ekadashi; the Lakhi Mela and then Holi follow in turn.
This bhajan is a welcome to the arrival of Phalgun — a joyful song that binds the mela preparations, the travel plans and the colours of Holi together. Lakhbir Singh Lakkha’s well-known T-Series rendering makes it all the more alive.

Refrain
Aaya Fagan aaya re,
Khatu waale ka mela aaya re.
Rangon ki bahaar leke,
Shyam Baba bulaava aaya re.
1 Chalo Ringas se Khatu, nishan uthaao,
Paidal yatra kar ke, Baba se milwa aao.
Fagun ki hawa mein, bhakti ka sandesh,
Khatu waale bulaate, chalo Shyam ke desh.
2 Gulaal aur phoolon se, Holi khelein milkar,
Baba ke darbaar mein, jhoomein sab judkar.
Ekadashi Dwadashi, Baba ka pragatya,
Fagun mein paayen hum, Shyam ka saannidhya.

"Aaya Fagan Aaya" is a song of welcome that turns the arrival of the month of Phalgun into both a personal and a communal festival. Phalgun means the Khatu mela + Holi + the manifestation festival — a three-fold celebration.
The verses picture the mela preparations — the eighteen-kilometre Nishan Yatra on foot from Ringas to Khatu, the colours of Holi, the crowds thronging Baba’s court.
This bhajan is sung especially in February–March, when devotees plan their mela journey. The T-Series version has carried it to lakhs of listeners.
When it is sung
Phalgun Mela preparations, the eve of Holi, February–March satsangs, and the mela’s Nishan Yatra — every festive occasion.
