Bikaner toKhatu Shyam

‖ 260 km · ~4 hours by road ‖

Bikaner is about 260 km from Khatu Shyam, a four-hour drive across the Shekhawati plains. It is a straightforward approach for devotees from northern Rajasthan, by car or by train through Churu.

By road

~260 km · ~4 hours

The usual route is Bikaner → Nokha/Sridungargarh → Sikar → Ringas → Khatu. It is level, easy driving for about four hours, passing through the heart of Shekhawati.

A car or taxi is the most convenient option. Sikar makes a natural halt for food and rest before the final stretch to Khatu.

By train

~6 hours · via Churu to Ringas

Trains from Bikaner Junction reach Ringas — the nearest railhead, 17 km from Khatu — via Churu, in about six hours.

There are also direct trains to Sikar, which is about 50 km from Khatu. Churu is the key junction on this line and has good onward connections.

By air

Fly to Jaipur, then ~80 km by road

Bikaner’s Nal airport has limited flights. The reliable option is Jaipur International (JAI), about 80 km from Khatu.

Most Bikaner pilgrims prefer road or train, however — flying is rarely worth the detour for this route.

Practical Tips
  1. 1

    Sikar makes the cleanest route

The Bikaner–Sikar–Ringas road is the most-used approach, with good food and rest stops at Sikar before the last 45 km to Khatu.

  2. 2

    Add Salasar Balaji

Salasar Balaji (Hanuman) dham lies on the Bikaner–Khatu corridor. Many devotees take darshan at both shrines on the same journey.

  3. 3

    Churu is the train junction

If you are travelling by rail, Churu is the important junction — it has good connectivity onward to Ringas.

  4. 4

    Avoid the summer heat

Bikaner and this corridor are desert country. May and June are harsh; October to March is the comfortable window for the journey.
